DESCRIPTION:​Not enough young diaspora Tamils are fluent in their mothertongue. Many understand Tamil at home\, but lack the confidence to speak\, read or write it on a regular basis.\n\n​There is little to no mainstream support for Tamil language-learning\, even in popular apps such as Duolingo. Tamil schools play a significant role for younger generations\, but often need to be supplemented with significant additional training for true fluency to be achieved.\n\n​That’s why we’ll soon be inviting everyone to tackle these longstanding issues through our intense one-day competition. Participants will team up and use AI tools to rapidly build innovative prototypes for Tamil language-learning applications.\n\n​Promising concepts will be rewarded with resources and opportunities to spin them out into real-world apps. All experience levels would be welcome\, regardless of coding ability or Tamil fluency.
